Welcome to GILD
We are a non-profit, member-driven group for neurodivergent adults and adults with developmental disabilities focused on organizing social activities, fostering friendships, bolstering independent living skills, and providing a network for members and families.
GILD (Group for Individuals with Learning Differences) is a non-profit collaborative serving the social needs of adults 21 years and older with learning differences that impede their independence. Membership is offered without regard to race, color, religion, or ethnic origin.

GILD has approximately 50 members who are at least 21 years old, reside in the Baltimore metropolitan area, and have learning differences.

GILD members develop new abilities, nurture friendships, and enhance social lives and independence through various classes, social gatherings, and events.

GILD also provides a network of support for members’ parents and families, offering annual educational events, bimonthly support group meetings, twice yearly family events, and information on resources.
Programming

Skills Classes: GILD provides twice monthly skills classes taught by experienced professionals on topics such as handling conflict and protecting yourself online.

Social Activities: GILD members choose and help plan a few activities each month such as going out to dinner and going bowling.

Events: GILD hosts several large-scale events each year including an annual spring party and a fall picnic to which members and family members are invited.
